Obama Renounces Former Pastor?

So Obama denounces the hate-filled, anti-America words of his pastor, Jeremiah Wright Jr, which were made public this week. Yep, Obama "vehemently condemns" his pastor's words.

Do you believe that?

Ok, picture this:
Obama sits with his campaign counselors and they have to come up with a way to counter the very campaign-damaging remarks made by his pastor of 20+ years. Picture yourself a fly on the wall during this campaign-planning session. Obviously Obama can't say to the public, "yea, he said those things and that's part of the reason I've stayed in his church for 20 years." Whew, can't say that! And we can't ignore the statements either, that would be campaign suicide.

So ok. The pastor's statements are so damaging to the campaign, the question now is how do we undo this? And the results of this damage-control session are:

"Let me say at the outset that I vehemently disagree and
strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject
of this controversy. I categorically denounce any statement
that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from
our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals
have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the
campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright
the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue."
Well ......what else COULD he say?

His speech writer should get a raise.

So. Well. Do you believe the sentiments Obama gave the public as a counter to the vitriol coming from his pastor?

If you do, I've got a bridge to sell you...

The news out today reports the illustrious pastor as saying America created the Aids epidemic to keep the rich rich and the poor poor!!! Oh my, back to the drawing board!
